Recta by Nebiolo—“Italy’s Helvetica”—revived by Canada Type http://bit.ly/paIFTb Wonder what happened to this project http://bit.ly/pMAlb0

Now I know at least 4 attempts at Recta. http://t.co/MTPtbWi Would be interesting to compare each revival. (via @kupfers)

My mention of CT's Recta was not an endorsement. Interesting that there are so many attempts but no release. Obtaining rights may be factor?

@kupfers Yes, my point is why this one and none of the others? Perhaps it's not a case of being done, but a case of rights/due diligence.

Doing a typeface revival treads in murky © waters, but good folk do their best to seek permission from rights holders or designer's estate.

On Recta: P. Griffin of Canada Type tells me he sought Butti, Da Milano, & Novarese heirs and found none so he went ahead with the revival.
